Acceptance

By accessing or using MudMonster ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and MUD operators who submit listings.

The Service

MudMonster is a directory and community platform for Multi-User Dungeon (MUD) games. We provide discovery tools, player reviews, community voting, and an optional subscription service for enhanced features. We do not operate the MUD servers listed in the directory; those are independently run by third parties.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep it current. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent MUD listings.
  • Manipulate voting through bots, scripts, or coordinated inauthentic behaviour.
  • Post reviews that you did not write personally or that misrepresent your experience.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service.
  • Use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or unsolicited commercial communications.
  • Scrape the directory in bulk without prior written permission.

MUD Listings

By submitting a MUD listing, you represent that you are authorised to list the server (you are an owner, administrator, or have permission from one), and that the information you provide is accurate.

We review all submissions before approval and reserve the right to reject or remove any listing at our discretion, including listings for servers that are offline, abandoned, or that violate these terms.

We may contact you at the email provided to verify or request updates to your listing. Listings that do not respond to administrative requests within 30 days may be removed.

User Content

"User Content" means any reviews, comments, display names, or other content you submit to the Service. You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting it, you grant MudMonster a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display and distribute that content on the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You agree not to post content that is defamatory, obscene, infringing, or otherwise unlawful.

We reserve the right to remove any User Content at our discretion without notice.

Subscriptions and Billing

Paid subscriptions (Veteran and Legend plans) are purchased and managed exclusively through the MudMonster mobile app via Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not process payments directly on this website.

Subscription terms, refund policies, and billing are governed by Apple's or Google's respective terms. The Legend plan ("Lifetime") grants access for as long as the Service is operational.

We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing or features with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

Intellectual Property

The MudMonster name, logo, and original content are owned by MudMonster and may not be used without prior written permission. The MUD games listed in the directory are the intellectual property of their respective owners.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We do not endorse or vouch for any MUD server listed in the directory.

MUD servers listed on MudMonster are independently operated. We are not responsible for any content, rules, or conduct within those servers. Connect at your own discretion.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MudMonster and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MudMonster is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
